Deborah Trouten

Deborah has more than 20 years of experience advising leading organizations on communications issues. A strategic communications counselor and senior leader with excellent execution skills, she is an accomplished practitioner with a successful track record on both the corporate and consulting side of the business.

Prior to starting Dakota Communications, Deborah was senior vice-president of a global public relations firm advising a range of public and private corporations on complex communications issues. Previous to that, she was senior vice-president with a corporate communications and investor relations agency.

Deborah holds an MA (Communications) and is an accredited public relations practitioner (APR). She has lectured at the Richard Ivey School of Business, The University of Western Ontario and spoken at several industry conferences. Deborah is a member of the Canadian Public Relations Society, the Public Relations Society of America – Counselors' Academy and the Institute of Corporate Directors. She is an active community volunteer and presently serves on the board of the Electrical Safety Authority (the Human Resources & Governance Committee and the Pension Committee).

Ginette Whitten-Day

Senior Associate

Ginette has more than 25 years of communications experience in government, corporate and agency settings.

A strategic thinker with excellent execution abilities, Ginette has helped organizations develop and implement corporate communications programs and employee engagement strategies.

Ginette's work also includes writing speeches for senior executives and government ministers, and writing annual reports, brochures, fact sheets and other public information materials for print and web. She is also an accomplished editor who specializes in taking complex technical and scientific information and rewriting into plain language for a general audience.
